I know what you’re going through. You’re probably wondering: How did this thing get in my pocket? What is this?
Answer: I probably put it there, and it was kinda fun. Your feelings are your feelings though, so I’ve prepared three responses based on what I imagine you might be thinking right now.
1. Delight: “What a funny surprise! How creative!”
Glad you liked it! It’s a really old idea1; I just recently revived it. I always thought it was funny and fun to do, and nine out of ten times people react positively to it. Welcome to the majority!
2. Anger: “I feel violated! Stay out of my stuff!”
Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa! You got me all wrong, here. First, I2 was barely in your stuff. I probably just dropped one of these cards in your bag in hopes that you’d think it was funny. But apparently I guessed wrong, and I just ruined your day.
I’m really sorry. Maybe some other project or thing I’ve made will cheer you up? Take a look around.
3. Indifference/Confusion: “This is silly. What is wrong with you?”
Good luck with that riddle, and let me know if you solve it! 34 years on the planet and I still haven’t figured it out. Call this an effort to find the answer.
“I'm not sure what what I want to do ultimately, but I know it's going to involve me. So here's to self-promotion.”
Next Steps
If you thought this was interesting, take a look around at the other funny/weird/silly creative projects I’ve done and check back soon, because there’ll be more. And if you’re interested in using my creativity for your own gain, I’d love to discuss some exciting opportunities!
Also, would you mind taking this survey? I’m always looking for ways to improve user experiences.

In college my friend and I used to amuse ourselves in boring engineering classes by cleaning out our wallets of receipts and other junk, and then depositing the collected trash in the pockets of other students. At the time, my personal website was the (now dead) spiderpop.com, so I extended the idea as a way to promote that site.

Honestly, there’s a small chance it might not have been me, because some people like this idea so much that they want to do it themselves! As a tall man who doesn’t care for sports, I know that it’s not easy being in the minority, so I still respect your feelings on the matter. ↩
